The Seoul Olympic Park, shortened to Olpark, is an Olympic Park built to host the 1988 Summer Olympics. Spreading over an area of 1.4 million square meters, the Park boasts, in addition to the sporting facilities, a vast wooded park, the reproduction of two historical sites from the Baekje period (18 BC – 660 AD) – the Mongchon mud wall and the Mongchon moat – as well as more than 200 sculptures and works of art. As a matter of fact, the park is said to be one of the world’s five best sculpture parks.
Busan is South Korea’s second largest metropolis after Seoul. It is the largest port city in South Korea and the fifth largest port in the world. Busan was the host city of the 2002 Asian Games and APEC 2005 Korea. It was also one of the host cities for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Busan is home to the world’s largest department store, the Shinsegae Centum City and is pursuing a large number of multi-skyscraper projects, including the 110-floor, 510m-supertall Lotte Super Tower, which is slated to become the world’s third tallest building in 2013, after Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan.
